The owner seriously started collecting Blues/R&B/Soul records in the mid-1960s and ceased collecting by the end of the 1970s. Since that time the records have remained unplayed and stored upright in racks.
Acquired mainly through US/UK record dealers and blues societies, the records were always treated carefully and stored correctly, which accounts for the vast majority still in mint condition after 25 - 30 years. However, the grading used here is intended as a general indication of condition only and is not a precise grade such as those given by professional dealers.
As a rule of thumb Mint means that the record has never been played or has been played a couple of times and is free from surface scratches; VG means that one or two light scratches are visible; and G indicates a few scratches or scuffs. All album sleeves are in perfect or near perfect condition and are the original sleeves unless stated otherwise.
Actively
involved in blues research, the owner interviewed many black American and white British blues artists who
toured Australia between 1972 - 1976. Therefore many album sleeves have been
autographed, and are indicated in the listings by bold type. The
records are listed in alphabetical order of artists, followed by title, label,
issue number, country and grade. Country refers to
which country the record was made in, which may not necessarily be the
same country the session was recorded in.
The
following abbreviations have been used for countries:
AU=Austria. CN=Canada.
